How to minimize your Enemy Territory

Windows

If you want to minimize your ET with Windows you can use ET Minimizer , you can download it in our Download Section [1]

Linux

ET Switch

If you use some kind of Linux there are several ways to minimize your ET. First solution is ETSWITCH - A *nix 'minimizer' for a few games from Nicklas Larsson. You will find it here: [2]

Requirements: no need for a specific desktop enviorment, xlib only. configure will catch any missing libs.

You need a working development environment that can compile programs. On popular GNU/Linux distributions, this means having the glibc development package(s) installed.

To compile ETSwitch, you need to have the XFree86/x.org development packages installed.

In the archive you will find a README file for further introdctions.

2nd X- Session

Otherwise you can start a second X- Session. To do this change to another Console by pressing Ctrl.+Alt+F6 (You can also switch to Console Nr. 1 by pressing Ctrl+Alt+F1. Console Nr. 7 is where your desktop enviroment is running (normally). So, switch to your 6.th console by pressing Ctrl.+Alt+F6. Login with your user account, no root needed! Then enter:

startx -- :1 -nolisten tcp

A new X- Session on console No. 8 should be started. You can start your ET there. If you want to switch back to your first X- Session press Ctlr+Alt+F7. To get back to ET press Ctlr+Alt+8. Very easy, isn't it?

After closing ET, just log out from the 2nd X-session

I tested this with some Ubuntu 8.x and Debian 5.0, I hope it works for you. If not, please tell me.(Contact [3]
